03:09 pm - STUPID ASIANS!!!!!
OKAY so for those of you who don't know.. I had a minor turning major SKIING MISHAP on Dec.30th while I was teaching a lesson on a black diamond @ Mtn. Creek to a little girl. Some Asian guy comes bombing down the mountain flailing his poles everywhere.... and ski's RIGHT INTO ME. right into the side of my right knee. yes, my bad knee. knocking me down into the snow. after yelling at him telling him that if he can't handle the mountain get off of it... i sat there for 5 mins... continued my lesson.. then taught another 2 hr lesson.
THEN I had to teach ANOTHER one after that & realized my knee hurt & hobbled to EMS... then to the orthopedist dr in Monroe.. who said my knee was fractured... then I got an MRI.. then went BACK to the doctor yesterday... and found out that my cartilage is torn and theres little pieces and chips of BONE just kind of randomly chillin' out in my knee & I basically need knee surgery............................ dum dum dummmm..... AGAIN.
SO I already have THIS: http://familydoctor.org/488.xml Osteochondritis Dissecans, which i was diagnosed with when I was like 18 and had surgery when i was 19 or 20... APPARENTLY I have no blood supply to a part of my bone and cartilage and it just kind of DIES and breaks away and causes me pain... and like 10 people in 10,000 ppl get it... horray for being a statistic and the proud owner of a "rare disease"!! They also say it's not genetic at all but my cousin had the same thing and the same surgery.
SO ANYWAY MY SKIING ACCIDENT MADE IT WORSE and workers comp is paying for it. end of story.
and no more skiing this season does not make for a happy Erin.

06:42 pm - NO MORE WALMART!!!
SO yesterday was the release of the new Nintendo Wii's... and ALL DAY YESTERDAY me.. chris... laurel.. and patrick SAT infront of walmart. for 10 hours. yes. 10. AND it wasn't really that boring at all.. we entertained ourselves.. i brought my laptop and movies.. WHICH DIDN'T HELP BECAUSE MY BATTERY DIED FOR SOME REASON even though it was fully charged when I LEFT. but whatever. I have pics from that but not on my puter' yet.
and @ 12:00am they let us in the doors and gave us numbers and let us buy them :-D
OH so it was freaking like 35 degrees out.. and I brough tmy electric blanket with me.. cuz' I'm smart.
then I bought 2 extension cords.. and ran them from our spot in line to the outlet 20 feet away... THEN some Walmart lady tells me that "this can't happen" then pulls the cord out and sees that its under someone chair and blanket and says "THIS IS A HAZARD, WHAT IF IT EXPLODES"
LAST TIME I CHECKED LADY.. extension cords DON'T EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so then i was cold.
SO I was gonna keep one fo rmyself.. until I notived they're going fo 500 bucks on ebay.. so I decided to sell both of them.
ACTUALLY I want a ps2.. yes I said 2.. because I wanna play Dance Dance and I can't do that on a Wii... I know once these auctions are over I'm gonna kick myself for not keeping one..

trying to catch a train in Harriman... which i missed, thanks cop. and had to drive to Ramsey to catch it.
80mph.
in a 65.
AND i cried.
ALOT.
REAL tears too. not fake 'i wanna get out of my tick so ill just cry' tears. oh no. mine were real.
this blows.
my ins will now raise $100. and I'll have to pay like 300 dollars in fines.
oh great.

SO today I hit some traffic on 17 in Middletown coming home from work JUST before the ramp to get onto 84... so I kind of went over to the right side to go around everyone and ride in the exit lane to get onto 84... ONLY to be stopped by a cop and some fire police people standing infront of 6 road cones blocking the ramp to get onto 84. EFF. so I looked to my left where I could actually SEE 84 and all I saw were cars and cars and cars just STOPPED. so i was like... eff this. so I got off in middletown.. some people were getting off in mtown and getting back on 17 so they could get on 84 from the other side of 17.. which is COMPLETELY INSANELY POINTLESS because OBVIOUSLY theres an accident so OBVIOUSLY you'll be stuck in it.
SO WHATEVER.. i went allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way throough middletown and got on 84 near exit 3 (the occc side). I found out later on that apparently there was a really bad accident and they COMPLETELY shut down 84 west between exits 3 & 4.
Okay so here's what I was getting at...
I was sitting in bumper to bumper stop and go traffic on 17, like.. stop for 10 seconds... go for 3 seconds and move MAYBE 50 feet.... stop for another 10 seconds.. so on. so THERE ISN'T A LOT OF SPACE BETWEEN YOU AND THE PERSON INFRONT OF YOU.... as I soon found out... very... littlespace
(I have a Jetta for all of you in the dark) There was this red VW Beetle infront of me.. and as I looked over at the fire police guy the Beetle must have ABSOLUTELY COMPLETELY STOPPED because as soon as I noticed that he stopped... I absolutely completely stopped too........into the back of his car.
BOOM! so okay my bad. I ran into the back of him. and when stuff like that happens my foot starts to shake like a RETARD ANDI CAN'T CONTROL IT.
So I thought he was gonna be ALL sorts of pissed.. he gets out, takes a look at his back bumper and says "Well, I'm good", then I take a look at my front bumper and say "Yeah, looks like I'm good too", then he says loudly "Guess Volkswagen makes pretty good cars" and got into his car... I said "Yup.... sorry about that!", got in my car and drove off.
Not that I've had many fender benders with other cars, they've always been with inatimate objects like bowling alley phone poles and BRIGHT yellow cement poles in gas stations...
BUT this had to be the fastest "accident" I've ever had. literally.. a minute and a half....
BOOM... shit.. pulled over.. got out.. looked at both cars.. mines okay.. mines okay too.. VW's have good cars.. sorry.. drive off. end accident. start trek through m-town.

quick update... the flood sucked. i had to go some ass backward way through middletown and come down rt 6 then go AROUND neversink drive and BACK down 209 to get home. um.. me and chris went to mtn creek on sunday.. which was lotsa fun.. and its close. and he sprained his ankle so we couldn't go to 6 flags... ummm.. bought some fireworks and made some noise on the 4th... slept at Chris's the other night and i hate his bed and i STILL can't move my neck so i went to the chiropractors lastnight and he said its all knotted up and jammed and twisted and asked me what i did and the only response i had was that .. i slept. SO IDK how it got like that... <br>
ummmmm..im thinking of starting a website where i beg for money to pay off my school loans.... <br>

So my Stratus as of a few days ago.. needs a new CATALYTIC CONVERTER. uhhuh. thats about $600 installed. 6 months ago (when i was stuck on the thruway for 2 hrs. heading to Kingston) I found out it needed a new distributor.. $700. so I got the distributor... and started debating about the converter. ok. my cars' old. it has 166,000 miles on it... and my tie rods are going so maybe within the year or even 6 months im going to need a whole new front end.. who knows how much that'll cost...
SO i decided to get a NEW (used) CAR! the 1st place i looked was siena's automall over on 17M/211 in m-town.. and i hit up all those lots... then went to middletown honda.. eh hem OVERPRICED. there was a 2003 Civic EX for like $16,500.. WHAT?!? and a BRAND SCHPANKIN' NEW 2006 fully loaded Civic EX for 19,500. now. how are you gonna sell an older style, older car from 3 years ago.. for only 3 grand less than the brand new fully loaded one.
WHATEV. needless to say i didn't get my honda :-(..
but i DID BUY A 2002 BLACK VW JETTA WITH BLACK LEATHER AND POWER EVERYTHING AND A SUNROOF!!!!!!!!!!!!
i got a sweet deal.. and now im a biggirl.
cuz i bought it ALL by myself... and THEN i bought insurance for myself BY myself.. with my OWN money.
my mom's happy cuz now im finally off her insurance.. im not. cuz now I have to pay for it.
but anyway so i pick it up on tuesday night...

Better late thean never, right? SO as we all know i was in AST at Seton Hall.. AND every year they have a formal.. AND i went this year :-D. it was a few fridays ago on April 21st at the MARRIOT at Newark Airport. AWESOME HOTEL. SO i got to see my sisters.. only a few alumnae tho.. and all of the new sisters.. it was such a fun time...
We shared a room with MY JODY MAHODY and her date Dave... jody seemed to disappear randomly throughout the night.
SO WE GET THERE... and karen.. or lauren.. or one of them is like.. NO DJ. HES NOT HERE YET. so we're like.. EFF. so for SOME REASON the DJ never showed up after many nasty voicemails... to his voicemail. so since every shu kid has a laptop.. one of the girls dates had his with all his itunes songs on it.. and the hotel just happened to have a GIANT DJ SPEAKER.. so they hooked it up and MUSIC WAS PLAYED ALL NIGHT LONG. problem solved. We had good food... that they took AWAY from us for some reason at like 845.. bastards.. so anyway..
HERES WHY I LOVE THE MARRIOT: The pillows are big white fluffy down pillows.. the comforters... DOWN.. and theres a nice soft down pillow top mattress pad on every mattress.
so in my drunken stouper... i found a maid cart at midnight.. and me and Lauren's date took sheets back to the room.. ha.. and i got MAD at him cuz he stole top sheets.. and at home i need an extra bottom sheet.. so BACK to the maid cart i went to find a full sized fitted sheet.. got it.. and brogught it home with me:-D...
then i went to walmart to get orange dye.. and dyed it orange to match my room.. and now i sleep on it EVERY NIGHT.
my mom is like.. ERIN HOW OLD ARE YOU. I hope you got that out of your system. blah blah blah
so yea.. it was so much fun and it makes me miss college more and more.

SO.. I GOT A NEW LAPTOP!!!! ever since my SHU craptop crapped out.. ive been lost in the world without a laptop. I have my old computer at the desk in the livingroom but that computer is from like 2000 when a 866 ghz, 64mbs of ram, 10 gig harddrive was pretty big. SO all i was asking for for my bday.. (on april 19th :-)) from my mom and dad is money. and i was gonna keep the money and put it with my tax refund and save up for a laptop and hopefully get one by May...
SO i saw this awesome one in Best Buy for like $1300. then i went online to CompUSA's website and i saw one onsale for $949 and it was faster and had more memory.. so i was like... no way... this makes no sense. SO yesterday i was in the city and went into CompUSA to look for this laptop and i didn't see it so I looked it up online on one of their display laptops and foudn it.. then i went up to the guy and asked him if he had any of these.. and he said yea he had one left in the back.
so i was like... okay and its 949? and he was like "yeah... if thats what the site says." so i was like "okay thanks." and i was gonna leave... BUT then i passed this case full of like 5 laptops.. and IN THAT CASE.. was MY laptop.. WITH A PRICE TAG OF $1499 DOLLARS. ... so i went BACK to another laptop to pull up their site with the laptop on it... and it wasn't availablte anymore..
so then i realized that MISTER WEBMASTER DONE EFFED UP! ... and that i better get this now or else im going to have to pay the "real" price for it when i have money saved up... so i was like... um.. ILL TAKE IT.
SO as soon as i got home i went online to look at my new laptop on their site... and it said that the product was no longer available... or couldn't be found.. or whatever.
SO BASICALLY I got a SWEET $1,500 laptop for $949 because whoever updated compUSA's website screwed up. and it just so happened that they realized their screw up RIGHT AFTER i had already got it for 5 hundred dollars LESS.
oh. i am awesome. yes i am.

UHHUH. thats me at the POND SKIM again thsi year at mtn. creek.. which i did NOT win. i face planted right into the water... which was like LITERALLY zero degrees. and my skis didnt pop off one time.. and i couldn't plant my feet on the bottom of the "pond" so some guy had to jump in and get me because i could barely BREATH because of the coldness & SHOCK of the wwater.
so yeah... i didn't win.. BUT I DID win a surf board in the .. beanies, bikinis, and boardshorts" contest. out of 12 people... ERIN WON. now i have to learn to surf... this coud be a chore since I live 2 and a half hrs from ANY beach.
but ANYWAY..
so my new job is super good.. im actually at work right now.. theyre really laid back.. like people throw little squishy nurf balls at eachother... and if i get here at 9:05.. its OKAY.
so YESTERDAY when i was driving to work.. i look over into the WESTbound lane when i was on 17.. and waht do i see? a CAR... IN THE AIR.... flipping through the air about 3 times... then landing back on its wheels. and it drove right away. no. but thats what i saw. but it didnt drive right away... so after my holy shit face went away... i called 911.. uhhuh.. erin to the rescue :) then i turned around and drove through the grassy part in the middle and went the other way to his car to see if he was okay and stuff.. and this ASSHOLE truckdriver who was already puleld over.. starts yelling at me to never cross over a grassy median again becaus eim lucky i didnt get smacked with a car on the highway.. blah lbah lbha.. OKAY ASSHOLE.. im not fucking stupid.. i OBVIOUSLY looked before i pulled out onto a major highway and MAD SURE I WENT when there were NO cars coming. soy yea.. AMAZINGLY.. after flipping through the air an drolling on the ground... the kid in the car was okay. just in shock that it all happened.. but COMPLETELY FINE...
so i got all freaked tho and started crying after i called me mom when i left... like...its cool when u see it on tv on like... "Real tv" u know? but when u actually see something like that in real life.. its really scary. like.. that picture is definitely etched in my brain...

So... now that i have a NEW job.. that means I have to quit my OTHER jobs.
and so it begins. . . I called Island Tan today and tlaked to my manager and let her know that I can't work at all other than this tuesday and she was happy for me and said that she understands... and that the door is always open.. NO MORE ISLAND TAN. i quit.. i go back... i quit.. i go back. its my safety job.
THEN i left a VM on my bosses voicemail at the newspaper today, even though im goign there on Monday anyway.. but it'll be easier this way cuz then i can just be like.. "Hey did you get my message??". so yea.
thats job#2 quit.
THEN I called Patricof, the place in NYC where I ALSO work part time, and I left a voicemail on HER voicemail telling her i can work next week but then thats gonna be it. who knows if shell call me back or not, shes kind of flakey.. she never calls people back, only if you bother her to no end until she can't take it anymore, or when she feels like it.
job #3 quit.
Last but not least is Mtn. Creek, which I actually don't have to quit because ski season ends the 19th and I start the 14th.

yes... after 2 months of no live-journaling.. i have returned. with a lil' update.
So my laptop/craptop died and never wants to live again... and now I have to actually sit at a computer desk and NOT in my bed and talk on the computer.. but this one is really old so HOPEFULLY we're gonna get a new computer pretty soon. I want a laptop for my bday but thats not gonna happen.. so im just going to ask for money so I can put it toward a new laptop.
I went on a couple interviews a few weeks ago in NYC and one time Chris came with me and we ended up eating at Jeckyl & Hydes because he's never been there before.. AND we went to the TKTS booth and got CHEAP day of show tickets for a matinee of Sweeney Todd which wams AWESOME.. the music was AWESOME.. and the acting was AWESOME. whenever i hear this musical i think of billy.. and todd. for obvious reasons... and when they sing in the musical they keep saying sweeny sweeny sweeny todd todd todd over and over again.. and it was weird for a minute. but ANYWAY.... the tix were only 50 bucks too.. when i went home i looked up ticket prices online and found out they were like 100. So that was sweet.
and YES i still have 40875309485 jobs.. I work i nMonroe on saturdays and mondays... Island tan on tusdays... and Mtn. Creek the rest of the days.. and I still work for that ad agency in the citywhenever they call me in.. which was actually 2 days this week so thats good...
BUT I MIGHT HAVE TO QUIT ALL OF THEM BECAUSE I HAVE A NEW FULL TIME JOB NOW.. well no yet.. but they want me to work for them.. its at this Ad agency in Mahwah called LS Advertising. www.lsadvertising.com they make furniture ads. like all of the direct mail and flyers and brochures that you see containing furniture.. LS probably designed them. itll be weird to actually have money.. in an awesome way. maybe I can pay off my 40 grand of school now a lil' faster, huh?
It's also awesome because maybe once I'm comfortable with my bills and i pay off my one credit card and all of that then I can move out closer to my job.. if this one actually lasts.
IDK if I would move to Mahwah... because thats NJ. and we all know how I feel about NJ. I actually want to move down to Rockland... partly because I know some of the area down there pretty well.. and also partly because its NY and not Jersey.. and I kind of want to just stay in NY. but its soooo expensive to live down there... its like 1400 a month for a 1 bedroom apt. I wanted to move to S.Orange too but thats even more expensive.. i guess thats just the market down there anyway because its close to the city.. even living in Harriman is like 1200 a month without utilities.
but thats way down the road..
okay.. its snowing.. and im not gonna drive to mtn. creek... so here i sit updating my journal at 11am in my pjs.

10:47 pm - ski season? wha??
YES. it is time. Decebmer 10th marks the very first opening day of SKI SEASON in the tri-state area.
AND i will be working at Mtn. Creek again this year*...
AND i have to be there at 8am dressed n' ready to go. The first day is always the best day.
*but only on a part time sorta basis. which kind of blows because full timers get paid when they're on-site, whether they teach or not... PART TIMERS ONLY get paid WHILE teaching. emaning, I can be there for 8 hrs and only teach 3... and I'll only get paid for 3. FULL timers would get paid teaching pay for 3 hrs, and then another rate for the other 5 hours that they DIDN'T TEACH and probably just spent either skiing or eating.
BUT whatever, I'm happy cuz I get to ski:-D

On another note related to cold weather... I don tmind it so much... except the sore throats. and here's what doesn't make sense... when Im out in the cold playing around in the snow or whatver, or skiing all day.. my throat doesn't really hurt at all..
BUT when I'm nice and toasty under my covers and my mom turns down the heat at night and I breathe in the cooler air in my room... THEN my throat hurts ALL morning.
I do not understand this.
and im out of sucrets.

09:22 pm - Thanksgiving
thanksgiving...
My mom had to work today so I'm having thanksgiving with my mom and Norm on Sunday instead of tonight... hopefully Chris will come too :-)
because I heart him lotsa bunches
I went to my dads tonight... watched tv.. ate some food, im nto a big turkey fan tho, i mean it's good and all, I'd just much rather have it from the deli counter and pricechopper. I think it tastes better. "lunch meat turkey"
So, tonight was slightly eventful. It was me, my dad, my stepmom and my 3 stepbrothers. they're 11, 15, and 19.
SO here we are half way through dinner and john (15) asks nick (11) for a roll.... SOOOOO nik gives him a roll, but NOT BEFORE smooshing his hand into the roll to leave finger prints. SO then John calls nick an asshole at the dinner table and my stepmom yelled at them and told them to get away from the table right away.
soooo off they went.
Then I finishd my meal, helped my dad clean dishes, sat down and watched everybody loves raymond and fell asleep repeatedly on and off for the next hour.
Now I'm home and I think im headin' over to Steves because he's having some people over to his casa for after thanksgiving stufffff.
I don't htink I'll stay out late though cuz i am beatttttttttt.
